We follow practices recommended by Cancer Council Australia in relation to skin protection for staff and children. Horsley Kids is also a “Sun Smart Childcare Centre” and is recognised by the Cancer Council of NSW for its sun protection policy and guidelines. (Please click on this link for further information at Cancer Council of NSW)
The centre has a ‘NO HAT, NO PLAY’ policy, whereby children without a hat remain in covered and shaded areas only. We encourage children to wear their “Horsley Kids” yellow polo shirt & yellow wide brim hats every day to child care.
Educators will apply SPF30+ broad spectrum sunscreen to the children prior to outdoor activities. Parents are encouraged to have sunscreen applied to their child on arrival to the centre.
Families are given a wide brim Horsley Kids hat and two Horsley Kids polo shirts upon enrolment which are SPF30+ rated. It is company policy that all children wear their uniform daily and when your child outgrows their polo shirts or hat, new ones can be ordered from front reception.
These girls have been amazing and there enthusiasm and investment(general attitude) has really put myself and my daugther Stella at ease to say the least. If one or two of these girls are on of a morning at drop off, I know that I can walk out and go to work feeling happy and confident.
